The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter (KSEM) is an energy meter with a variety of functions. Thanks to the device's additional computer processing power, it already has the technology for future functions and tasks and offers the optimum solution for all KOSTAL inverters.

A great advantage of the KSEM is that it's pre-configured for the PLENTICORE plus, PIKO IQ and PIKO MP plus as standard. So direct installation is possible without needing to adapt parameters or undertake other settings.

One device, many possibilities

The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter allows you to make optimum use of energy in your home. The energy meter takes 3-phase energy measurements in real time. The measurement data is transferred to the inverters via standard interfaces,

which allows the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter to support the energy management of the PLENTICORE plus, PLENTICORE BI and PIKO MP plus KOSTAL inverters.

Inverters can be set up in the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter with the aim of maximising self-consumption of the solar energy and displaying the self/home consumption in the Solar Portal. To do this, the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter must be integrated into the KOSTAL Solar Portal.

To use PLENTICORE BI as a three-phase AC storage system, no changes need to be made to the existing PV system. All that's needed is the PLENTICORE BI, the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter and a compatible high-voltage battery such as the BYD Battery Box Premium.

One of the major benefits of the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter is that it's pre-configured for the PLENTICORE plus and PIKO MP plus as standard. So direct installation is possible without needing to adapt parameters or undertake other settings. When using the battery function, the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter is connected to the inverter and the battery and set up there. The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter then controls the charging and discharging functions.
