The KOSTAL home charging station – a real eye-catcher that delivers top performance

Everyone wants it: cutting-edge charging technology, high quality and compatible with a wide range of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. That’s exactly what the ENECTOR wallbox, KOSTAL’s wallbox, delivers.

Simply ENECTOR wallbox: The wallbox from KOSTAL

Sustainable motoring – that’s what the ENECTOR wallbox from KOSTAL makes possible. Delivered ready to connect, the ENECTOR is immediately ready for use. The simple principle is ‘Plug & Charge’. The ENECTOR from KOSTAL is compatible with a wide range of electric vehicles and hybrid models.

The ENECTOR wallbox is a compact and stylish wallbox that allows for space-saving installation. Its robust housing ensures safe use both indoors and outdoors. An LED display on the front of the housing provides quick and clear information on all important status messages and indicates when charging is in progress.

The ENECTOR’s features are also impressive: the 7.5-metre charging cable included in the scope of delivery provides a convenient reach when charging. The Type 2 charging plug for the vehicle connection is compatible with the charging point in the standard Mode 3.

The ENECTOR is available in both single-phase and three-phase versions. In the three-phase version, the ENECTOR AC 3.7/11 offers a single-phase to three-phase output of 3.7 kW and 11 kW respectively. In the single-phase version, the ENECTOR AC 7.4 charges at up to 7.4 kW. The KOSTAL electric car charger charges at up to 16 A per phase in the three-phase version and up to 32 A per phase in the single-phase version.

With or without a solar system: KOSTAL’s electric car charger charges your electric car using all available energy sources.

Charging made easy

When it comes to wallboxes, battery-friendly and fast charging are key. This is precisely one of the ENECTOR’s major strengths. When used in conjunction with the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter, a range of optional convenience features are also available. In Power Mode, the ENECTOR focuses on fast charging at the maximum available power. Lock mode prevents the charging function from being used unintentionally.

The two solar charging modes, ‘Solar Pure Mode’ and ‘Solar Plus Mode’, are particularly efficient. In Solar Pure Mode, charging is carried out exclusively using self-generated solar power. In this mode, only as much power can be charged as is currently available. In Solar Plus Mode, the charging power is adjusted to minimise the amount of power drawn from the grid.

Maximum flexibility with Time Mode

With the new Time Mode, the KOSTAL ENECTOR wallbox can be scheduled and controlled. Time Mode thus complements the existing charging modes: Lock Mode, Power Mode, Solar Pure Mode and Solar Plus Mode. Time Mode can be understood as an overarching function that offers the ability to control the charging modes on an hourly basis. It is therefore possible to plan a 24-hour day and select one of the four existing charging modes for each full hour.

Naturally, daily schedules can be customised for each day of the week, saved and adjusted at any time. Time Mode is controlled and scheduled exclusively via the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter’s web server.

Performance and control

For a single-phase vehicle, the ENECTOR starts the charging process as soon as there is a solar power surplus of 1.4 kW and can increase this to 3.7 kW as charging progresses. Is three-phase charging possible? In that case, the wallbox starts at the available 4.1 kW and increases to a maximum of 11 kW.

The ENECTOR wallbox achieves perfect charge control through communication with the PLENTICORE plus smart inverter and the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter. Charging is controlled intelligently and in real time at the touch of a button. The activation code “ENECTOR” unlocks the various convenience functions. Settings are configured via the KOSTAL Solar App or the web server in the KOSTAL Energy Meter. Optionally, the ENECTOR can be fitted with a button to switch between these functions.

Safety is a top priority
. The ENECTOR ensures safe and controlled operation throughout, thanks to its built-in DC fault current monitoring. At the same time, the integrated temperature monitoring provides protection against overheating. With the help of the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter, the domestic connection point is protected against overload during the charging process.

Simply transparent
KOSTAL Monitoring via the Solar Portal or KOSTAL Solar App clearly displays all performance and operating statuses of the wallbox in connection with the electric vehicle, the PV system, the battery storage unit and the mains grid. This provides an optimal overview of the production, control, storage and use of renewable energy.

Simply good
The KOSTAL Smart Warranty extends the warranty period free of charge to five years upon simple registration of the ENECTOR wallbox in the webshop.

Tip: Charge

your car cost-effectively using renewable energy. If you drive an electric car and charge it at home using renewable energy, you may be eligible for a grant when purchasing a wallbox. Charging stations that, for example, supply electricity for electric vehicles entirely from renewable energy sources or feature smart energy management could therefore benefit from a potential grant when purchased. This may also cover the installation and connection costs incurred in the garage, carport or parking space. Please note: Subsidies vary depending on eligibility criteria, scope and amount. This depends on the charge level, battery capacity, charging mode, number of phases (box & car) and the load on the domestic connection. If an active limit is set in the car, this will also take effect accordingly.

The wallbox itself is not connected to the LAN. All relevant data can be accessed via the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter, which is connected to the home network. An activation code is required to activate the connection between the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter and the wallbox.

The KOSTAL Solar App enables the wallbox to be monitored and controlled via your home network. Historical data for monitoring charging energy is available via the KOSTAL Solar Portal and the app. An activation code is required to enable the connection between the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter and the wallbox. The monitoring and control functions are part of the optional comfort features that can be added.

The wallbox can be actively controlled via the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter using the app or by accessing the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter’s web server directly. An activation code is required to enable the connection between the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter and the wallbox.
It is also possible to select the various charging modes using an optional push-button switch, which must be purchased and installed separately. Intelligent control (e.g. utilisation of surplus solar energy) is managed via the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter.

The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter transmits all relevant data to the KOSTAL Solar Portal. This data can then be viewed in the KOSTAL Solar Portal or the KOSTAL Solar App. To do this, the inverters and the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter must be set up in the KOSTAL Solar Portal. If data from a wallbox is also to be transmitted, this must also be set up in the Solar Portal. Locally, the current consumption data can be viewed via the KOSTAL Solar App using the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter, as a direct connection is also established here. This requires the optional convenience features of the ENECTOR.

Charging of the vehicle can be stopped via the KOSTAL Solar App or the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter’s web server.
If an optional push-button switch is installed, charging can also be interrupted using this. Alternatively, the vehicle itself usually offers the option to interrupt charging directly.

Yes, to do this, you need to update the wallbox and the KSEM – including any enabled convenience features – to the latest software version. Once this is done, the ‘Automatic’ function will be available for solar charging, allowing the system to switch automatically between Single-phase and Three-phase charging depending on the amount of surplus energy available.

The electronics used here have been designed and optimised for a maximum charging power of 11 kW. With this maximum charging power of 11 kW, almost all vehicles can be recharged in around 8 hours. In practice, however, charging times are significantly shorter, as vehicles are rarely connected to the wallbox when their battery level is below 5%.
