20 years KOSTAL Solar Electric Shaping the Future Through Experience KOSTAL Solar Electric celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. Since its founding in 2006, the company has been developing innovative power electronics for residential and commercial photovoltaic systems. As part of the KOSTAL Group, which has been in existence since 1912, KOSTAL Solar Electric combines decades of industrial experience with the continuous development of intelligent energy solutions.

20 Years: Quality, Innovation, and Security

New requirements, digital networking, and increasing demands for the flexible use of renewable energy shape this evolution. KOSTAL addresses this change with durable product concepts, high manufacturing quality, and development and production in Germany.

20 Years: KOSTAL Milestones

The history of KOSTAL Solar Electric is defined by product developments that have created new possibilities for planning, installing, and using photovoltaic systems. Key milestones include:

• 2007 – PIKO 5.5: The first PIKO—short for “Photovoltaik Inverter KOSTAL”—relied early on a three-phase device concept. Three MPP trackers and an integrated data logger enabled particularly flexible system planning even back then.
• 2013 – PIKO BA: With the three-phase inverter PIKO BA, KOSTAL combined photovoltaic generation and high-voltage battery storage in a single system. This innovative concept was awarded the ees Award in 2015.
• 2018 – PLENTICORE plus: The first hybrid inverter enabled the direct integration of a battery storage system—either during initial installation or flexibly at a later date.
• 2022 – ENECTOR: With its first proprietary wallbox, KOSTAL combined the automotive experience of the corporate group with know-how from the solar sector. The product design was honored with the German Design Award.
• 2024 – PLENTICORE G3: The third generation of the PLENTICORE was the first true universal inverter on the market, optimizing flexibility for planning and installation. A digital activation system allows additional functions and power classes to be unlocked based on customer requests.
• 2025 – HELIVOR: With the first modular high-voltage storage system, HELIVOR HV, KOSTAL expanded its system portfolio to include a flexibly scalable storage solution based on durable lithium technology.

KOSTAL All-in-One HELIVOR AXIS

The HELIVOR AXIS combines inverter and battery storage into a compact energy center for the home. The fully coordinated system solution simplifies planning, installation, and commissioning, seamlessly bringing together the flexible concept of the KOSTAL product family.

Battery Inverter PLENTICORE BI 25

The PLENTICORE BI 25 was specifically developed for the requirements of commercial storage applications. Featuring power output up to 25 kVA and multiple battery connections, it enables powerful and flexibly scalable storage solutions. 

Wallbox ENECTOR G2 

The second generation of the ENECTOR wallbox can now be integrated more comprehensively into the KOSTAL energy system. Intelligent charging functions allow for the demand-oriented use of self-generated solar energy. An additional MID version equipped with an energy meter supports tracking charged energy quantities—such as for charging a company car at home.

20 Years: KOSTAL Says Thank You

The 20th anniversary is also an occasion for KOSTAL to express its gratitude to the installers, partners, and customers who have accompanied the company on its journey. As part of an anniversary campaign, KOSTAL is launching a major competition with attractive prizes centered around the KOSTAL product world.
