Pylontech battery storage with PLENTICORE

There are convincingly good reasons to use PLENTICORE hybrid and battery inverters with the Pylontech Force storage system.

Smooth communication: battery storage systems from Pylontech and PLENTICORE

The battery systems of the PYLONTECH Force series - H1, H2 and H3 - represent modern high-voltage lithium iron phosphate technology (LiFePO₄) for stationary energy storage solutions. They communicate seamlessly with the PLENTICORE G3 and offer a modular, scalable architecture that is suitable for both residential and commercial applications.

All three series of the Pylontech Force range have an IP55 protection class, an RS485 communication interface and fulfil international standards such as VDE2510-50, IEC62619 and UN38.3. While the H1 and H2 are designed more for small to medium-sized applications, the H3 series offers significantly higher scalability and load capacity. The choice of the right system depends heavily on individual energy requirements, the available installation space and the desired power reserve.

The PLENTICORE plus is also compatible with Force H1, H2 and H3. The following section focusses on the PLENTICORE G3. The data for PLENTICORE G1 and G2 may differ. Please refer to the relevant data sheet.

Pylontech Force H solar cylinder - a good choice

KOSTAL always has the right solution for PV system operation with battery storage: PLENTICORE hybrid inverters and battery inverters can be perfectly combined with the Force H solar battery from Pylontech. The KOSTAL inverters form highly efficient combinations with the Pylontech Force H1 and H2 solar storage systems.

PYLONTECH Force H1-V2

The Force H1-V2 series is based on 48 V modules with a capacity of 3.552 kWh each. It can be flexibly configured with 3 to 7 modules, which enables a total capacity of 10.65 to 24.86 kWh. The nominal voltage ranges from 144 V to 336 V. The systems are equipped with a maximum charging/discharging current of 40 A and offer an interface via RS485. The H1 series is particularly robust and designed for temperatures from 0 to 50 °C. It is well suited for applications with medium energy requirements and is compatible with various PLENTICORE G3 inverters, whereby the maximum power draw varies depending on the inverter type.

PYLONTECH Force H2-V2

The Force H2-V2 series works with 96 V modules of 3.552 kWh each and also has a modular design - from 2 to 5 modules, resulting in a total capacity of 7.10 to 17.75 kWh. The nominal voltage is between 192 V and 480 V. Here too, the maximum charging/discharging current is 40 A. The H2 series is more compact than the H1 and is particularly suitable for installations where space is limited. It offers high compatibility with PLENTICORE G3 inverters and fulfils all relevant safety and quality standards. The H2 systems are ideal for households with low to medium energy requirements that still want a reliable high-voltage solution.

PYLONTECH Force H3

The Force H3 series is the most powerful variant. It uses 102.4 V modules with a capacity of 5.12 kWh each and allows configurations of 2 to 7 modules - corresponding to a total capacity of 10.2 to 35.85 kWh. The nominal voltage ranges from 204.8 V to 716.8 V. With a charge/discharge current of 50 A and an extended operating temperature range of -10 to +50 °C, the H3 series is particularly robust and powerful. It is ideal for larger applications, for example in apartment blocks or small commercial operations. The H3 systems offer a high discharge capacity, making them the ideal solution for demanding systems.

Focus on the PLENTICORE G3

The PLENTICORE G3 from KOSTAL is a versatile inverter that can be used as a solar, hybrid and battery inverter. With a power range from 4 to 20 kW and the option of retrofitting two stages, it adapts flexibly to growing energy requirements. The three power classes S, M and L offer up to 30 A MPP current, which means that even large solar modules can be utilised efficiently.

Thanks to DC coupling and high-voltage technology, conversion losses are low and compatibility with numerous battery storage systems enables flexible storage integration. The backup power function in combination with the KOSTAL BackUp Switch ensures a reliable power supply in the event of a grid failure. In addition, the inverter offers intelligent shadow management, simple installation with a compact design and modern interfaces such as WLAN, LAN and Modbus TCP for sector coupling.

Pylontech Force H and KOSTAL PLENTICORE battery storage systems - easy to install!

The innovative device design of PLENTICORE and the Pylontech Force H battery storage system makes handling very convenient. The Pylontech battery is installed by stacking the modules wirelessly, which saves a lot of time when setting up the system. In the basic configuration, at least two or three modules are coupled with the base and battery control module to form a single unit. The H1 series can be expanded from 3 elements to 7 modules and has a capacity of 24.86 kWh under a maximum system voltage of 336 volts. The input current of 37 amps ensures fast storage. The smaller version of the Pylontech Force, H2, can be expanded from 2 to 4 modules and offers 3.2 kWh per module with a possible total capacity of 14.21 kWh. The input charging current of 18.5 amps in this variant is almost identical to the H1 model. Both models provide output currents of 40 amps, which ensures that the stored energy reserves are available quickly.

The individual elements of the Pylontech Force H storage system can be easily connected to each other wirelessly by simply stacking them on top of each other thanks to a base system integrated into the modules. The system is only fixed in place after connection with rails. This saves time and money and is a further expression of the intelligent design of the solar battery system.

The PLENTICORE inverters are connected to the photovoltaic modules via the DC inputs provided and have two corresponding DC interfaces to connect one Pylontech battery per inverter. They are integrated into the AC circuit at the grid connection point and are also connected to the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter or KOSTAL Energy Meter selected depending on the system design. The inverters are quick and easy to install as the devices have interfaces that are easily accessible for installation. Push-in terminals ensure a very time-saving cable installation.

The connection of PLENTICORE to Pylontech Force H is uncomplicated and very quick: all that is required is to connect the communication via RS485, the potential equalisation by means of an earthing cable and the two DC transfer cables. This means that the PLENTICORE system with Pylontech guarantees safe and reliable use, which can be optimally set up with great efficiency.

PYLONTECH FORCE H solar cylinder and the PLENTICORE - handling with convenience

Pylontech Force H is configured for plug & play ex works. To activate the battery system, simply flip the fuse switch and press the start button. The battery system then initialises automatically and shows the status on the display of the management module. In the PLENTICORE inverter, the Pylontech battery can be registered for interaction in just a few steps. In addition, the PLENTICORE system can be configured quickly and easily via the KOSTAL web server using the setup wizard, either via the display on the device or from anywhere via smartphone/tablet app. Once activated, the system is immediately ready for use and can be easily monitored and managed digitally on an ongoing basis.
