NEW: Visual roof planning in KOSTAL Solar Plan

Visual roof planning in KOSTAL Solar Plan simplifies and visualises system design

A new feature in KOSTAL Solar Plan – visual 2D roof planning – now makes installers' daily work easier and allows them to design photovoltaic projects more quickly and accurately. With the new visual roof planning, installers can carry out an initial assessment of the roof and provide customers with an initial representation of the planned system.

Even easier planning with the new 2D roof planning

Creating a visual roof plan is done in three simple steps:

1. Selecting the roof area: The roof area is defined by clicking on the corners of the roof.
2. Orienting the roof area: You can choose between a pitched roof or a flat roof. Finally, the roof pitch is set.
3. Positioning the modules: Select the PV module and define its mounting on the roof.

Additional features, such as PV module transparency, make it easy to identify unusable areas and take image distortions into account.

Visual roof planning offers numerous advantages for installers:

  • Time savings: Immediate evaluation and visualisation of the system
  • Intuitive use: Fewer clicks, faster design
  • Error reduction: Excluded areas and distortions are easy to identify
  • Flexibility: Supports different roof types and up to 4 generators per project

Technical precision and ease of use

Visual 2D planning is based on real satellite images or uploaded floor plans, providing a solid basis for project design. By accurately entering the roof measurements, tilt angle and module dimensions, designers obtain a realistic representation of the planned system – right from the early stages of the project.

Seamless integration into KOSTAL Solar Plan

2D roof planning is fully integrated into the existing KOSTAL Solar Plan application. This means no additional tools, no duplication of data and no extra effort. All information generated during roof planning flows directly into the subsequent design and configuration of KOSTAL components.

Ideal for consulting and quotations

The visualisation not only supports internal planning by installers, but also provides a clear and convincing basis for customer meetings. Potential PV system owners gain a better understanding of the project implementation – which can significantly speed up the decision-making process.

Optimised for mobile use

Visual roof planning is browser-based – it also works on tablets and notebooks on site. Installers can therefore carry out an initial assessment directly at the customer's premises, document the planning and even move modules or delimit areas – all in a matter of minutes.

Regular updates and continuous development

KOSTAL is continuously developing the Solar Plan – including the roof planning function. Additional features such as 3D views, automatic roof surface detection and tools for shade analysis are planned for the future.

With the new visual roof planning, KOSTAL simplifies the PV design process and ensures a more efficient working day for installers as well as accurate and clear planning for future PV system owners.

Installers can try out the new visual roof planning feature in KOSTAL Solar Plan now and discover its advantages for themselves.
