More power for everyone: PLENTICORE plus G2 now with 15 amps input current

The popular KOSTAL PLENTICORE plus G2 hybrid inverter is getting a performance upgrade. With the new AutoUpdate 02.20.21395, the maximum input current per MPP tracker will be increased from 13 amps to 15 amps – automatically, free of charge, for everyone. This means that new and existing customers alike will benefit from a noticeable increase in performance at no extra cost.

More PV power – now with 15 amps per tracker

Modern PV modules are becoming increasingly powerful. Many current high-performance modules based on M10 or N-type cells now deliver currents between 14 and 15 amps – and the trend is rising. Until now, installers had to ensure that the string configuration was precisely matched to the inverter limits for modules with higher currents. With the new 15 A update, KOSTAL is responding directly to this market development. From now on, PV strings with higher module currents can be integrated more efficiently.

The PLENTICORE plus hybrid inverter intelligently combines solar power generation with battery storage. Increasing the maximum input current to 15 amps therefore affects the PV input side as well as the energy management between the PV system, battery and domestic grid.

Higher charging and discharging power:

The 15 A extension enables the inverter to feed the electricity generated by the PV generators into the connected high-voltage battery more quickly and efficiently. This shortens charging times and increases the amount of usable energy – especially during periods of high solar radiation or when dynamic electricity tariffs apply.

Optimised discharge:

Discharge performance also benefits: energy from the battery can be fed into the home network at a higher rate when energy demand increases – for example, when several large consumers are operating simultaneously or when charging an electric car.

Greater efficiency in the overall system:

Thanks to improved power consumption and output, the entire hybrid system – consisting of a PV generator, PLENTICORE plus G2 and high-voltage battery – operates more efficiently overall.

AutoUpdate: Innovation completely automatically

The update is automatically installed via the integrated AutoUpdate function. The PLENTICORE plus G2 recognises the new firmware, downloads it and installs it independently. The highlight: neither installers nor end customers need to intervene.
