First inverter with EEBUS pilot qualification: KOSTAL sets the standard once again

KOSTAL inverters are the first to be officially EEBUS pilot-qualified – a milestone for the connected energy world

KOSTAL once again sets the standard in energy technology: The PLENTICORE G3 is the first inverter to successfully complete the official EEBUS pilot qualification. This confirms KOSTAL's technological leadership in the field of intelligent, cross-sector energy networking.

With the new firmware update 3.04.03.19410, all compatibility and communication requirements have been met. The PLENTICORE G3 is thus the first device in its class to be included in the official list of pilot-qualified EEBUS devices – a significant step towards standardised, interoperable energy systems.

‘This qualification underlines our technical commitment and our ongoing dedication to open standards and future-proof energy solutions,’ says Andreas Schmalenberg, Product Manager at KOSTAL.

EEBUS in brief: The EEBUS initiative aims to intelligently network all relevant energy consumers and producers in the home via a manufacturer-independent language. With the successful pilot qualification, KOSTAL is ready for the energy world of tomorrow – networked, efficient and secure.

Better connected – EEBUS in practice

For installers and tradespeople

  • Future-proof installation: With EEBUS compatibility, KOSTAL inverters meet current and future requirements for networked energy systems (e.g. Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG)).
  • Simpler integration: Standardised communication simplifies connection to HEMS, heat pumps or wall boxes – without additional configuration or gateways
  • Good arguments for customers: Pilot qualification offers a strong selling point – proven interoperability, tested and future-proof

For qualified specialist retailers

  • Marketing strength through unique positioning: The first officially EEBUS pilot-qualified inverter provides a competitive advantage and strengthens your position in consultations
  • Serve the growth area of smart homes/sector coupling: EEBUS is the key to dynamic tariffs, controllable consumers and grid-friendly applications – a clear growth area
  • Low-risk recommendation: Certification minimises queries and uncertainties for installers and end customers

For end customers & plant operators

  • Greater independence and efficiency: KOSTAL inverters can automatically work together with other devices in the household (e.g. wallbox, storage unit, heat pump) – for maximum optimisation of self-consumption
  • Prepared for grid requirements: With EEBUS, KOSTAL devices already meet future requirements for grid-friendly behaviour and dynamic tariffs
  • Investment security: Thanks to updateability and certified interoperability, the system remains compatible with new smart home or energy management systems in the long term

Secure the future with KOSTAL and EEBUS

The official EEBUS pilot qualification is much more than a technical seal of approval – it is a clear signal of openness, networking and future viability. Anyone investing in photovoltaics today wants to be sure that their system will continue to communicate smoothly with heat pumps, storage systems or wallboxes tomorrow – regardless of the manufacturer. This is exactly where EEBUS comes in as an international standard.

With KOSTAL, customers are choosing one of the first inverter manufacturers to support this standard and now officially pilot-qualified. For installers and wholesalers, this means simple planning reliability – for operators, maximum flexibility and future compatibility.

Grid and metering point operators also benefit: they are currently on the lookout for compatible devices to meet new legal requirements such as Section 14a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG). With the pilot-qualified PLENTICORE G3, they have a reliable device that has already been tested in practice – a real step forward for everyone involved.

Those who choose KOSTAL now are ready for whatever the future holds – networked, upgradeable and at the highest technical level.
