The compatible CORE series in detail
The storage systems compatible with the PLENTICORE were launched by Wintersun in cooperation with a tier one battery manufacturer. There are two different systems:
• Power-CORE 1.0, with a storage capacity of 9.6 kWh to 25.6 kWh
• Energy-Core 1.0, with a storage capacity of 5.52 kWh to 18.8 kWh
Both the Energy-CORE and Power-CORE versions are modular and thanks to their plug-and-play design, both battery modules can be installed with ease. With their compact dimensions of 17.5 cm in height, 65 cm in width and 26 cm in depth per module, these systems are easy to accommodate. Automatic configuration also ensures convenient and easy commissioning. In addition, a maximum storage capacity of 153.6 kWh can be achieved by connecting up to six towers in parallel. When installing the storage unit, customers should check whether a new update is available because the CORE software SW02.08 is essential for compatibility to work.
"Customer requirements for planning a PV system are getting more and more demanding. What they want is the greatest possible flexibility in system design, making their own energy supply from renewable sources possible. We are taking this development into account when it comes to compatibility with other battery storage systems," says Andreas Schmalenberg, Product Manager at KOSTAL.
Smart inverters with convenient and large storage units
The PLENTICORE inverters and also the CORE storage system from Wintersun have an IP65 protection rating and can therefore be used indoors and outdoors. The Wintersun storage units function perfectly within an ambient temperature range of -10°C to +55°C.
Depending on the layout, the voltage range varies between 120 and 600 volts, with a maximum charge/discharge current of 26 amps for the PLENTICORE BI and Energy-CORE storage unit. When combined with the Power-CORE storage unit, this figure is 25 amps. The PLENTICORE plus, meanwhile, delivers 13 amps.
This creates a charge/discharge power of 2.5-6.5 kW (PLENTICORE plus) or up to 10 kW (PLENTICORE BI), which guarantees the supply. For this purpose, PLENTICORE inverters are equipped with special safety components in accordance with regulations and ensure trouble-free operation. In addition, both CORE series offer protection from overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuits.
KOSTAL hybrid and battery inverters
The PLENTICORE plus hybrid inverter is the perfect all-round solution for a wide range of system configurations and offers easy connection to both Wintersun CORE series. The PLENTICORE plus has an output of between 3 and 10 kW. When two or more units are used, even higher outputs are possible. It provides dynamic regulation, delivering the greatest possible amount of self-produced electricity at the right time.
The PLENTICORE BI battery inverter is available in the 5.5 and 10 kW power classes, with an input current of 26 amps. This makes the KOSTAL battery inverter a perfect candidate for expanding an existing PV system by adding the Wintersun battery storage unit.
