Winner of the Red Dot Award: the KOSTAL Solar App

Our new KOSTAL Solar App was awarded the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2019. This year, the jury consisting of 24 international experts reviewed more than 8000 submissions. Our app impressed with its high design quality and creative performance.

With the app we offer you a simple way of monitoring your pv plant - intuitive, easy to operate and visually appealing. Therefore, we are pleased that the design was recognized and awarded with the Red Dot Award.

We are also happy to celebrate the award with our partners Generationdesign GmbH, whose creative team designed the app, and Web Wikinger UG, who implemented our requirements perfectly. The official Red Dot Award ceremony will take place in Berlin on November 1, 2019.

The free app from KOSTAL Solar Electric allows the customers professional monitoring of their own photovoltaic or battery system. All functions can easily be checked on any mobile device at any time. The design is based centrally on the target group of the private customer and focused on the customer needs of simple, intuitive operation and monitoring of this complex, technical product - the photovoltaic inverter. The PV monitoring of the KOSTAL Solar App also includes, among other things, how much energy is stored in the battery and how the own consumption consists of PV and battery. Even if no battery is available yet, the virtual battery can be used to calculate an individual forecast of the possible own consumption with memory - a good basis for making a decision about a possible investment in a battery.

A further functional extension of the app includes the possibility of obtaining an overview of how many kilometres could be driven by an electric vehicle or how long a heat pump could be used to shower with the energy generated by the user.

Download the KOSTAL Solar App and benefit from the new and extended functionalities. All you need is access to the KOSTAL Solar Portal and an inverter installed there. And of course the app, which is available for the Android and iOS operating systems - free of charge.
